Running common Windows Applications: Microsoft Word and more other programs

This is one of the most commonly used items in the computer; it is called the Microsoft Word program, this is one of the typing programs of the computer system, with this software you can be able to type letters articles, projects, applications and even add pictures to them too. So we can almost say that this is a must know program in the computer, it is normally represented on your computer like this

Above is a diagram that shows how the Micro soft word program is represented on both your desktop and any other place in your computer, all you have to do is to remember to click on that icon that represents the program and when it has fully opened then you can type on it.
Icons; these are the ways that the software in the computers are represented on the desktop, and in the computer system as a whole.
Windows; this is the operational backbone of the computer, there will be no computers without the windows, this is what allows the computer programs to have sessions {when you are on the internet you have the possibility of typing too and going thro other websites and even type on the computer}
There are a lot of windows like Windows 95, windows 2000, windows xp, these are all different models of the window that a computer system can use, windows 2000 is better than windows 95 as it is an improved model of the same windows 95. Below is an example of the windows xp

Time glass; this is how the computer gets to tell you that it is still preparing the program that you intend to use in other words loading your program it normally appears side by side with the mouse arrow, below is a diagram of what the time glass looks like

Keyboard fast keys; this is normally used when you are navigating the windows, the word keyboard fast keys are a combination of two or more keys that when combined together will become an operational command from the keyboard to the computer system for example the keys; Alt + F4 will automatically close the operational window on monitor, there are a lot more fast keys like we had discuss above.
Homepage; this is what the introductory page of an Internet page is referred as for example if you type www.yahoo.com, on the Internet browser the 1st page that comes onto your monitor as the page opens is referred to as the home page of yahoo.com

Click; this is what the using the mouse to give commands to the computer system is called, when you press the right side of your mouse it is called clicking
Surf; this is when you go thro a website, say you are trying to find some information on a particular website, then you are surfing thro the website.
Pop up; this is the word that is used to describe the internet pages that suddenly appear when you open a webpage, or when you are trying to close the webpage that you were on, the are most of the time advertisements of other websites or the websites services,
Virus; these are the various small destructive elements that cause harm to the computer system, as the words implies we cannot see them or feel them, the computer can get in contact with them thro a website, an email, or thro a chat site and from the things that we might download.
